This non-profit organization began in 2009 by parents and community members to address the un-met needs of the Hood Canal School. The staff of Hood Canal School guides the selection of the projects. 95% of the proceeds raised are used to fund Hood Canal School projects. Everyone who is committed to providing the richest possible environment for the children of Hood Canal School is invited to join. The meetings are open to everyone and held on the second Monday of each month from 3:15-4:15 at the Hood Canal School. The Hood Canal Education Foundation is especially interested in partnering with other like-minded groups in order to stretch funds as far as possible.

Current Partners:

  • Hama Hama Company, which is a local natural resource business and is now being led by three Hood Canal graduates, contributes proceeds from its wildly successful seafood festival Oyster Rama to HCEF.
  • Mason County has partnered with Hood Canal School and HCEF in the application to the Washington State Department of Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO). In the spring of 2018 we were awarded a $250,000 matching grant to renovate the school’s track and field.
